Our Models Direct agency draws a lot of attention to our baby and child modelling categories. They both play popular parts in our modelling story and we expect the chapter to continue writing its positive narrative just as it’s been doing for the past thirty-plus years.
So what kind of baby and child modelling jobs do we get? Plenty! We get all sorts of requests. We’ll break them down for you right here:
Commercial modelling
This category is vast! Anything medium that advertises products and services, from ads on the billboard to print material, is related to commercial modelling. Our baby and child models get selected to cover a lot of interesting projects and we’re sharing some feedback on their assignments here just to give you an idea of what happens behind the scenes and the variety of modelling work that’s offered:

The Friend family were handpicked by the Pennon Group for a photoshoot. Here’s what the family had to say which of course, included their child model, Olivia:
“We were excited and a little nervous about this shoot. We knew it was a 2-day family shoot with all the family including our eldest daughter Olivia. We had packed up the car early in the morning as we needed to be there for 9 am as it was only just over an hour away this was one of our closet shoots. The Friend family always likes to take more clothes than not enough and our car looked like we were going away for 2 weeks, not 2 nights.
We always love a shoot when they provide accommodation as it always feels like a mini break. Shaun and I were a little apprehensive about the shoot being two long days 9-5 and having 3 children to try and keep happy and smiling is always on our minds…We arrived at the lodge which was the location for day one it was set in the most beautiful countryside, and we were working with a photographer Nick, his assistant Cody and Tanya Reed head of corporate communications for Pennon Group.

Tanya and Nick knew exactly what they were after which is always great when we have a firm direction. Trying to get that perfect shot will always take time but once again the children did amazing, even getting complimented by Nick and Tanya.
The day went by very quickly with children getting time out for snacks, lunch and a little bit of fun on the ipads. The second day was a completely different day we were all super excited as we were going to a reservoir to do cannoning and boating something we hadn’t done before, that’s why this job is always so good your learning and trying new things all the time.
We had a quick briefing and safety talk and it was go go go. I just kept hearing the girls laughing and having a blast it always brings us so much joy to see the children having fun and trying new experiences and we get paid for it !! Nick said he got some amazing pictures and it was a wrap. This was a fantastic shoot with lots of amazing memories.”
Our child model, Scarlett Brooks, is featured in another top-tier brand’s ad. Here’s what her mum shared about the experience of working on set with Hasbro!

“My little girl Scarlett who is six had the best day ever on an assignment from Models Direct for an advert for Hasbro for a Baby Alive Doll. It was a great day lovely people. They directed her well and looked after us brilliantly.”
Fashion Modelling
It’s all in the name with this niche so everything to do with modelling fashion apparel is here! Our baby and child models have had exciting requests to stand in for companies who have new ranges to showcase. The latest example is a company that needed a male and female model to wear their micro fleece oversized hoodies. Blake and Lola were booked with the Big Softy Blanket Company and enjoyed a snuggly photoshoot.
Models Direct also frequent requests which go onto our jobs board page (a live page which features new opportunities for our registered models to apply directly).
We had a request for girls aged 5-7 years old to star in a fashion commercial which we received a flood of interest!
Catalogue modelling
Another division that we focus on for babies and children is catalogue shoots for lifestyle, clothing, education, healthcare, and entertainment.
Again, our jobs board demonstrates the demand for this type of modelling amongst the youngest generation in our population. Examples of these include:
A calling for baby boys aged 0-24 months.
A request for young boys aged 3-8 years for a clothing catalogue shoot.
Other areas we cover are promotional events, and television and film work.
Overall, the range of modelling opportunities we cater for is vast but particularly for baby and child models, there’s a lot of work available.
We help to put babies and children forward for work and do our best to get them in the spotlight but ultimately the final decision for being hired is dependent on what our client needs to fulfil their marketing vision. So, if you want your baby or child to join our agency, let us know and we’ll be happy to help.
