In a time of Instagram highlight reels and instant gratification, it’s easier than ever to fall into the harmful trap of comparing ourselves to others, whether it’s your job, lifestyle, homelife or figure…don’t do it!
To be a successful model you need to believe in yourself and be confident in your own skin, it’s an industry where you will always be compared to others in your field and rejection plays a big part of the casting and assignment process. With this in mind it’s important to stay true to yourself and find ways not to compare yourself to the competition.

No one in the entire world can do a better job of being you than you! You are unique and as soon as we stop comparing ourselves to others we do a better job of being ourselves.
Modelling is competitive, it’s important to know and understand your strengths and what you are good at, if you are confident at meeting new people and communicating then promotional modelling may be an area of the industry you could succeed in, maybe you have acting skills that you want to explore in film and TV or maybe you have incredible skin and high cheekbones and want to be the next face of large beauty brand…..it’s all about accepting yourself and focusing on what you want to achieve.
Social Media is a huge resource for the modelling and entertainment industry, however mindless scrolling can be very damaging, inevitably seeing an image or caption that makes you feel bad about yourself in someway and possibly envious too, this can feed depression and low mood and make you question yourself which is not beneficial at all! Keep your time on social media purposeful, use it to build your style and for inspiration and connections, but remember who you are and what makes you you!
