For those who have joined Models Direct – and those who are considering joining us – but have not yet had work we would say please be patient, modelling is always worth the wait!
If you are frustrated that it has been some time since you first signed up with us, then please do hang in there.
Take a little time to browse the feedback pages and blogs on our website to see just how satisfying and rewarding assignments can be for those models who do have to wait a while.
As we always explain before anyone joins us, like any reputable, authentic employment agency we are unable to guarantee work to any models who join us.
Obviously, as a busy and highly successful modelling agency, our job is to place models in work – and this is something we do in abundance every single day of the week.
However, because we never make the final choice ourselves of which model to employ – this is always down to the client – we don’t want to make promises we can’t keep.
And this does mean that, sadly, some models do have to wait a while for their first assignment and some don’t make a final selection.
What is interesting, however, is that however frustrated our models become as they bide their time waiting to be offered a job, once they have completed a booking with us they are almost always over the moon.
Our models love the unique experience of the shoots we send them along to – they love doing something different, meeting new people and earning a little extra money.
And, as such, they almost always agree it was very much worth the wait.
James, for example, attended a wedding shoot for us and said afterwards:
“I have just had my first booking with Models Direct, it was an amazing experience.
“I had only joined the agency a few months back and got a call to model a wedding themed shoot.
“Charlie from Models Direct was so helpful in making sure I was prepared for the shoot and I worked alongside an outstanding female model.
“I enjoyed every minute of the shoot and was made very welcome and comfortable throughout the whole day.”
Adrian also waited before he was able to take part in a photo shoot.
His assignment was for renowned brewer Greene King. This is what he said:
“This was my first ever shoot since I joined Models Direct a year ago – it was an amazing experience hopefully this is the start of my career.”
Vinroy was also involved in a photo shoot for a brewery but by pure luck had less time to wait before he was selected by the client.
He said:
“I joined Models Direct just over a month ago and had my first booking for a promo shoot for Abbots Ale.
“Gemma of Models Direct was very helpful in making sure I had all the information I needed on the day of the shoot.
“It was a great experience and I made friends with another model I worked with on the day.
“The production crew was so helpful and made us feel at ease.
“Thank you for my first booking Models Direct….a great experience!”
Anita was on the same shoot – and she said:
“I joined Models Direct half a year ago and had my first photo shoot yesterday.
“It was a super good first experience – the crew was great and really looked after us.
“Gemma from Models Direct was in touch all the time and provided all the information and support.
“Thank you guys! I am looking forward to my next shoot.”
Those models who complete assignments with Models Direct are always very positive about us, our clients and the production crews on the day.
When we do receive negative reviews, these tend to be from potential models who haven’t worked with us, don’t understand that our clients make the final choice and have become fed up with waiting.
Our words, therefore, to those who are feeling frustrated is to please be patient.
We want to offer you work – that is our job.
But sometimes it just takes some time.
Our model Kwame summed the situation up:
“Although it might have taken long for me to get my first gig, it was worth the wait,” he said.
“I believe this will now give me the opportunity to build on my portfolio.
“It has also helped me to meet fellow models and receive advice from them on how to improve.
“It was a great production that I worked on and I am now looking forward to more such assignments.”
