Me! A model?

Yes, you! A model!

Almost anyone could be a model – and that includes you!

Contrary to many preconceived ideas of what models must look like, those on our books come in a wonderful array of ages, sizes, body shapes and looks.

At Models Direct we have clients with ongoing requirements for babies, children, men and women to play the parts of genuine members of the public in their campaigns.

And, no, our clients don’t want supermodels for their photo and film shoots – they want models who look like you, me and the person sitting next to you on the train!

Because we are the very people they want to appeal to in their advertising.

So, now that you know we have no physical requirements for our models, what else should you consider if you think you might like to join us?

Well, firstly you need to have a good understanding of how an agency like ours works.

Take your time browsing our website and reading our blogs – and why not follow us on social media too?

Peruse the feedback and reviews we receive from those who have actually worked with us to see what kinds of assignments we offer them and whether they have enjoyed taking part.

Think about whether you could do what these other male, female or child models do – or, if you are a pet owner, whether your cute creature could be suited to modelling.

Consider whether you have the flexibility in your life to fit some fun, part-time paid work in – not forgetting that the jobs we offer can be anything from a few hours to a few days and that you always have the option to say no!

It is important to know that a reputable, professional agency such as ours is always honest about the fact that we never, ever guarantee work to any of our models.

This is because it is always our clients who choose which models (or models) they would like for a particular job.

They approach us with their requirements, we provide them with a number of suitable models and then they make the final choice.

But we also explain that if you join us, maintain your e-portfolio and update your photos regularly, you will be giving yourself the very best possible chance of being offered work.

While you don’t need to be any particular size or age to join us (our clients could be seeking an 80-year-old man with grey hair and glasses one day, then a 30-year-old woman with long red hair the next!) you do need to feel you would enjoy modelling.

You should be someone who is happy working with others, able to follow instructions and confident about taking part in a film or photo shoot.

Most of our models have never modelled before – and here is what a couple of them said after their first assignment.

Shilpi said:

“The photographer, hair and makeup, lighting and stylist people were all incredibly professional, sensitive, helpful and motivating.

“This was my first ever modelling experience and they made me feel like a celebrity.

“They already knew the other models on the project but treated me exactly the same and with the same zeal and enthusiasm as the other experienced ladies, which was really sweet of them.

“And they provided a great breakfast and lunch which was really helpful and a great touch! Thanks so much.”

And Tumi said:

“This was my first shoot through Models Direct and I loved it.

“Gemma, my point of contact on this assignment, was very helpful in providing information, answering my questions and helping me to get ready.

“She even messaged me on the day to wish me luck and followed up after, so thank you.

“The atmosphere at the shoot was great. The shoot crew welcomed us warmly, made us feel comfortable and relaxed and gave instructions in a way that made it easy to follow.

“I found it easy to work with the photographer, my co-model from the agency and met other silver models.

“It was so much fun with lots of laughter and camaraderie, and I learned a lot too.

“What an encouraging start and I look forward to more exciting opportunities in the future.

“I highly recommend Models Direct.”
