Landing A Role As An Extra with Models Direct!

“This was the first commercial set that I’ve been on and boy was it a movie!” 

Being an extra can be a very exciting role to be selected for whether it be to appear in  film, theatre or TV!

Most TV dramas, films, commercials, campaigns, music videos and theatre productions will include extras in some way. It could be a crowd scene that requires lots of additional people, a walk on part (non speaking) or a large scene, battle, party, street, public place that needs to appear full and busy – all these people have been booked as extra’s!

Models Direct often receive enquiries from production companies looking to book extras, they generally don’t have very specific requirements and acting experience is not always necessary. The client may need a particular age group, look, gender or ethnicity depending on the project, so the Models Direct team will source the ideal people.

Models Direct have recently had 15 of their models on a assignment in London working as extra’s in a crowd scene for a commercial for a new gaming app. The assignment was filmed over two days and the crowd needed to stay the same throughout filming, so our extras were required both days!

Working as an extra is such a great way to earn money, but also gain experience of this industry and see how it works behind the scenes!

“Last week I had an amazing experience thanks to @modelsdirect – I got the opportunity to be apart of the 8 Ball Pool commercial, powered by ASW Creative. 
This was the first commercial set that I’ve been on and boy was it a movie!
Getting the chance to be around the production team and witnessing how everything works was super interesting and made me even more intrigued about the film & TV life.
Even though it was a long 2 days, the team made me feel comfortable and really took care of us and the other extras which I’m super grateful about so big up them!
