Ah, spring is officially here. It’s lovely to breathe in the crisp freshness in the air, see the new beginnings of life bloom again, and hear the beautiful natural sounds. As the start is flourishing again, other things will need a refresh. Let’s talk about that all-important spring portfolio update.
When you’re an MD model, you’ll know that our team regularly send out portfolio update requests usually as a blog. It’s a seasonal gentle reminder so that your portfolio is current and remains on top of the pack and not the bottom of the pile. Let’s check out our tips on how you can introduce your spring look into your ePortfolio.
1. Invite the natural light
When snapping up new images, use natural outdoor light. You might want to stand next to a window, or patio door or have a mirror reflect the sun’s rays for an ultra-photographic shot. You could take your baby’s image with the light gently reflecting on their cheeks (definitely no direct sunlight into their eyes, of course!), the sun peeping from behind your child’s head or where a family member or friend takes your shot with the glistening rays warming your skin.
2. Go outdoors
Spring calls for spending time outside. Although you might’ve been out and about in the winter period, the spring is the start for great images to keep rolling in for your modelling portfolio. Choose a setting that will enhance your online presence, so something a little out of the ordinary like a photo in a meadow where new plants are blooming, at a farm within the haystacks, sitting on steps leading up to a museum or in your favourite coffee shop but being snapped from the outside.
3. Pick a favourite spring activity
There are lots of unique spring activities that you can count yourself in such as birdwatching, gardening, exploring farmers’ markets, outdoor yoga sessions, and local community clean-ups. Why not take your camera with you and snap up some delightful pics of you doing your favourite spring activity and add them to your portfolio – yay!
Don’t forget to update your measurements and statistics too. For more information, check this blog out which will explain more.
