Come on fellas, you’ve been thinking about this for a while, so read on, follow our step-by-step guide and take your first strides towards becoming a male model.
Here at Models Direct we are always looking for chaps who are eager to step out in front of the camera at photo or film shoots or take part in promotional modelling assignments.
Our clients approach us on a daily basis looking for male models of all ages, looks, heights, heritages and sizes.
Therefore guys, we are always keen to hear from you if you would like to find out more about the paid, part-time work we offer.
And this is where to begin…
1 Carry out your research
Make sure you approach an agency that is reputable, trustworthy and registered with the government as an official employment agency. That way you know you will be taking on genuine modelling assignments for authentic clients and that you will be paid fairly and promptly afterwards.
2 Take some great photos
Grab your digital camera or your phone and ask a friend or family member to be your photographer for a couple of hours. We need boys and men with all sorts of appearances to join us as our clients usually require models who look like everyday members of the public. Therefore, don’t worry about whether your style and look are right for us – just send us one or two pictures so we can see what you look like and how you might fit into our agency. We don’t require professional photography but your pictures do need to be clear and we have to be able to see you clearly in each shot.
3 Fill in our form
The next step is to fill in our online form, upload your images and wait for us to be in touch. One of our agents will call you and tell you more about working with us. While you wait for their call, why not peruse some of the feedback from our other male models and read our blogs that reveal more about the exciting jobs we send them off to?
4 Maintain your e-portfolio
If your application is successful and you decide to join us, you will be given your own e-portfolio. This must be kept up to date with information about you, any modelling or acting work you undertake and recent images. The more you keep on top of your e-portfolio, the more likely you are to be put forward for suitable work.
5 Modelling with us
If any client comes to us requesting a model matching your age, look and availability then you will be put forward for the job along with a shortlist of other models. Our client will then make the final choice as to who they would like to employ. This does mean we are unable to guarantee you any work. Some male models are offered work almost immediately while for others it may take longer.
6 On assignment
If you are offered and accept an assignment with Models Direct, your personal point of contact will ensure you are well informed about where you need to go, when you should arrive and whether you need to wear or bring anything in particular. They will also be available to answer any questions as the booking approaches. When you arrive, the photographer, director or another crew member will tell you more about what is required.
7 You are now a male model!
After completing your first assignment you will be a fully fledged male model! If you enjoyed the experience, then don’t forget to update your e-portfolio and hopefully we will be able to offer you more male modelling work with Models Direct!
