Real women, with real differences make realistic female models – modelling agencies therefore need female models of all shapes and sizes.
Well-known brands require a steady stream of “real women” to take part in their advertising campaigns, promotional work and publicity assignments – and perhaps that could be you!
Long gone are the days of having to be a slim size eight and a tall 5ft 10ins, getting real in the modelling industry means employing models who reflect the women we really are.
So, what does that mean to anyone who might be interested in female modelling?
1. You can be any age
From newly born to retired, the world of modelling needs people of all ages for all manner of projects. And when it comes to female modelling, this is especially true. We need models from all generations for a spectrum of assignments.
2. You can have any look
You may be classically good looking or you may have striking or unusual features. Most of us are beautiful in our own unique way and that is what modelling agencies require on their books – a wide range of female models, with differing looks and appearances.
3. You can have stand out characteristics
Perhaps you sport a dramatic haircut or have a piercing or tattoo – don’t let that stop you from coming forward as a female model. Quirky and interesting is often very appealing to clients seeking individual models to stand out in their photo shoots.
4. You can be any size
We represent models of all heights, weights and body shapes. Sometimes models of a particular size and shape are required to represent a particular brand: petite, plus-size or curvy, for example. At other times, advertisers just want their models to be “normal” and as we know “normal” actually means diverse and different.
5. You can be from any background
Whatever your upbringing, wherever you live and whatever your heritage, you could make a great female model. Once again, variety is the spice of life and our backgrounds enhance who we are and reflect the multi-cultural population of this country.
6. You may have a disability
At Models Direct all our assignments are open to those with a disability. There are, however, also occasions when we are asked to suggest disabled models to promote specific products or because the client wants to reflect our diverse population as a whole.
7. You may be pregnant
Pregnant female models are sometimes required to promote baby and parent-to-be products. Do tell us if you are pregnant as that could make you suitable for even more assignments.
Remember, different is good! So, do tell us all about yourself.
That is what Neri did – and it certainly opened doors for her….
She told us:
“I had an awesome time yet again working with the Ideal World TV crew (channel 22, Freeview, 664, Sky) advertising the NoNo hair removal system. As soon as I walked in, there were hugs and it was just like walking into a workplace that had known you for years. Seeing my fellow model Bernardo again was just like being with family and we knew exactly what we were doing. I even made a little bit of Ideal World history, as they don’t normally allow tattoos to be shown. But the presenter said that so many people have them (and I hadn’t shaved my legs for quite a while, so there was plenty if hair to remove.) So, I was allowed to advertise by shaving over my tattoos to prove it could be done, with no damage being caused. Everyone remembered me and I them and I think I’ve made some fabulous friends to work with. Highly recommend Models Direct and a huge thank you to my agent Molly, for being an absolute star once more!”
