Whilst a lot of our clients are open-minded, certain modelling jobs require precise specifications. Family modelling is a good example of a popular type of commercial modelling where only groups of models will fit the bill. A group of strangers could pull it off, but there’s no substitute for a real family displaying genuine love and togetherness to appeal to the UK’s households.
On set, families enjoy many benefits and their experiences as models can create memories which will last for years. A generation gap is no obstacle and, in fact, is seen as an advantage.
We recently contacted proud dad Barney about a modelling assignment for Holland’s Pies. The company was founded in the 19th century by a father and daughter, so it was fitting that they were looking for two young (and hungry) sons to accompany him in front of the cameras. Felix and Rufus joined Barney for Holland’s Pie’s promotional video – netting them a “nice little earner” in the process.
When you think of family leisure activities, what springs to mind? Holidays! Whether they’re in a sun-kissed destination abroad or a more local short break, a good old-fashioned holiday is just the ticket to reward the whole family. When the Zarghani family were elected to star in an advertising campaign for Park Holidays, the three sisters Tallulah, Delilah and Esmeraldah were the perfect match to appeal to like-minded families who love getting away from it and putting their feet up. Holiday and travel operators especially love choosing families for their marketing purposes, what with so many package deals and discounts available for children. Just look at their happy faces!
The Reade family didn’t miss out, either! They had the envious chance to star in the Park holidays brochure and website, being photographed in holiday homes, playing on the beach, choosing their meals at a holiday buffet and frolicking in an indoor swimming pool. Sounds great, right?
Well, you have to be in it to win it, so why not have a family meeting and see if family modelling is right up your street.
We’ve built up quite a list of families over the years. Other families to have enjoyed success on our books include the super Skiltons, the cracking Cawkwells and the stylish Sokoyas. Have a gander and their photos below, and imagine your family in their shoes – there’s no reason why you couldn’t be our next modelling family rubbing shoulders with professionals on set for a well-known brand. If you have the desire and the confidence, we’d like to hear from you!
Some of our families have gone on to star in multiple assignments, accruing thousands of pounds in fees. Not bad, eh?
Mum Rachel’s feedback says it all:
“Working as a modelling family is a mixture of excitement and apprehension. As any mum knows, if you’re going anywhere with your children, you want them to be on their best behaviour.
This is no different on a photo shoot, so when you’re asking three of your children to stand up straight, smile, look happy continuously while taking direction from the photographer, it can be challenging.
Luckily, we work with Models Direct, and have always been so well looked after, from lunches being put on for the children, to overnight accommodation and letting the kids have breaks so they can chill, go on their iPad etc.
We have now had seven assignments, over £6,000 in modelling fees, and I can’t believe how lucky we are. My son says it’s all down to his fantastic good looks!”
It’s time to join the FMR – Family Modelling Revolution! We’ll be looking out for your application!
