Communication is key, but it only works if both parties think in the same way.
As our schedules mount up, business continues to flourish. We wouldn’t have it any other way. The number of telephone calls and emails we conduct means we’re always on the go, and we’re sure our models and clients have equally hectic timetables. Being busy is healthy.
With the amount of technology these days – and its ease of accessibility – communication has never been so prominent in our lives. Millions of people communicate on-the-go, often as a habit. It’s never been so convenient. Whether it’s a sneaky text on the train or a quick message queuing in a supermarket, it’s a wonder we sometimes forget to return calls or texts at all.
We know our models strive to be the best they can be, but no one’s perfect. Whilst you always look for new ways to stand out to our clients and reveal any new looks on your Eportfolio, remembering to return calls or reply to emails really can be the difference between securing a booking or being overlooked. That would be a shame.
We urge all our models to save our contact details in their phones. There’s nothing more frustrating than receiving unsolicited phone calls, so we don’t blame anyone for ignoring unrecognised phone numbers. We do it, too, so no complaints there. However, if we can’t contact models because they don’t answer our calls or emails, it’s counter-productive – especially if we’re calling models with some good news.
So, please save our details in your phone. It could be under the name “Models Direct” or, even better, the name of one of our team members. We’re here for our both our models and clients, so we love it when they answer calls by our team member’s first name, as it demonstrates a personal relationship.
We’ll call newly registered models to discuss their applications in more detail. For instance, we often receive urgent last-minute job briefs from clients. Using our knowledge and experience, we’ll select a few models to recommend to clients, but we may need to know if the dates are convenient for the model. A phone call is the quickest way to ascertain if the model is available; our clients respect that last minute bookings are harder to fill, so they’re always appreciate securing a talented model at short notice. But if the ideal model doesn’t answer our call, they could lose out on the opportunity to work with famous brands and professional photographers. Sorry to sound to harsh, but you have been warned!
We may also call models to give more details on bookings, and to follow-up on how the assignment is going. Whatever the reason, we only call models for their benefit, so please save our phone number!
