Could my child be a model?

The world of commercial modelling is as diverse and inclusive as it’s ever been. More brands equal more opportunities for everyone. That includes the cheeky little chappies from the ages of 2-12 years. These are our child models, and they’ve been an integral part to our success for the last three decades. And we’re pleased to report that their popularity (and demand) is increasing month by month.

Parents largely govern how their child will develop in later stages. They know their children better than anyone, so only they will know if their child could be a model.

It’s not just about looks, although that plays a big part in being chosen by our esteemed clients. Children don’t need to have the “traditional” cute characteristics. It’d be unfair to suggest that many of our clients don’t choose angelic boys and girls solely based on their faces, because they often do. It depends on the product, or the campaign, or the message they are trying to convey. But that is only half the story.

It’s to a child’s advantage if they are as confident as they can be at such a young age. They often must have a stable disposition, and generally be well behaved. Crucially, they should be comfortable interacting with other people – both other children and adults.

Parents will have asked themselves the question, “Could my child be a model?” The answer is “Yes”. We know this is the case because we’ve enjoyed thousands of children’s modelling success over the years. So, it’s not a flimsy opinion: it’s an answer based on fact.

However, parents should be aware of certain things before submitting their child’s details.

  1. Don’t register your child with us on a whim. Our website contains everything you need to know prior to registration. Research pays dividends.
  2. Gaining modelling work is not guaranteed, because our clients choose which models they’d like. However, by joining us, your child will be in the best position, and will have the best chance of being seen by clients. That’s because we put forward models with the desired looks every time a suitable assignment is available – and this happens very often!
  3. Fees earned depend on the client – there is no “flat fee”. Child models frequently earn more than other models, though. For example, famous brands can demand £300-£500 for a days’ work.
  4. We emphasise that parents / guardians must be present on a child’s modelling assignment. This may seem like common sense, but a child’s safety cannot be underestimated.

Child models are also vital in family modelling. Without them many assignments wouldn’t exist. So, if parents prefer to introduce their children to commercial modelling in a group, family modelling is the perfect solution. And better news – family modelling is very often a high earner. It’s not all about earning money, but we know it’s important to everyone.
