Think positive, feel positive and take positive steps!
Having the right attitude can make all the difference to those who want to become models or who are eager to develop modelling as a part-time or even full-time career.
Modelling isn’t always easy, it comes with lots of ups and downs and waiting for work can be frustrating.
But having a positive mental attitude can make all the difference.
Firstly, as we at Models Direct always say, almost anyone can become a model – so, if you feel confident enough, then why not give it a go?
Be positive from the outset, believe in yourself that this is something you can do and will enjoy, and take a set of modelling shots for us to see to reflect that.
We always explain to our models that we can never 100 per cent guarantee to be able to offer anyone work.
This is because we give our clients a selection of models to meet their requirements and they always make the final choice.
Some of our models are therefore offered work very quickly while for others it is more of a waiting game.
Again, this is when you need a positive mental attitude – hang in there and don’t give up!
Do all you can to give yourself the best chance of being chosen by taking new photos every so often and updating your e-portfolio regularly.
If you are offered an assignment and you want to become a model then do all you can to be able to accept it.
We never pressure our models to take a booking, but if you want to work then do consider each job offer carefully.
Then, when you go along on the day, you need to make sure you still have that positive mental attitude with you in bucket-loads!
Find out all you can about what will be expected of you; turn up promptly and with lots of enthusiasm – and be friendly, social and amenable during the shoot.
If you ever have any doubts about continuing to work with Models Direct then talk to us – tell us about your concerns and we can discuss them with you.
Also, keep following us on social media and reading the reviews from those models who have actually worked with us.
See what they think and how they have found the experience…
Most of them will have felt uncertain at times but in all likelihood they have probably dug deep and stayed positive at some point throughout the process.
