Commercial Modelling with our MD Team

We’re shining the spotlight on commercial modelling in this blog.

We know what you’re thinking – “Haven’t you got a lot of blogs on commercial modelling already, MD?”
Well, yes, we do but like with everything, a little refresh is always a good thing (we say the same to our lovely models about their ePortfolios, reels and submission of measurements and skills).
So, welcome to a new reading on commercial modelling (not just another one, but a revised version which will help you learn more about this category and how MD is helping to connect baby models, child models, teen, adult and mature models – and even pet models – to this popular form of modelling. Let’s dive in!

What is commercial modelling?

As a gentle reminder, commercial modelling is all about modelling across a diverse range of media for a range of purposes. In a nutshell, it’s varied, encompassing and interesting. Whether the modelling is intended for digital platforms such as Insta or TikTok or whether it’s for print purposes, commercial modelling is one of our leading modelling categories which we regularly see land in our inboxes and generate the highest leads in our agency.

An overview of what commercial modelling entails spans the following:

Photoshoots for ads – billboards, print material (magazines, leaflets, books) and digital material (websites, apps, emails, pop-up ads)
TV and film ads
Social media ads – Insta and TikTok, along with Facebook are paving the way for commercial modelling opportunities.

Commercial modelling is everywhere and embraces a diverse range of people. The limitations are lifted and really, anyone would be a commercial model. Who is chosen is down to the brand or company looking to advertise their products or services, so it’s in their hands who they select to be the main person/people of their campaign.

We’ll take a snapshot of some of our recent bookings with our commercial models and the top-tier companies they’ve worked with.

First up, our male model Gary was selected to star in a film demonstrating how to apply ECG equipment for Spacelabs Healthcare. They’re a company on a mission to make healthcare more efficient and effective for first-class patient care.

We also had our multi-generation family of female models who were booked for Say It With Diamonds’ Mother’s Day 2024 campaign. Child model, Zuri, mum Deborah, and nan Sandra produced stills and a video to present the jewellery company’s new range to commemorate the day dedicated to mums all over the world.

Finally, Now Students were on the lookout for young male and female models to appear in images for their website promoting their new location at Avon Studios in Bath. Commercial models – Paul, Jahiem, Wills, Megan, Sophie and Erin – needed to play the parts of students and young professionals making the most of the new spaces for student accommodation.

All of these are examples of the variety of work commercial models can experience. Here at MD, we’ve got a lot of commercial work to connect our talent with. Could you be the next commercial model to star in a memorable campaign? Get in touch with us to let us know if you’re interested!
