The Demand for Models of Diversity is Increasing

Models Direct is keeping you up to date with our latest diversity instalment. We’ve always been celebrating diversity and championing inclusivity for over thirty years now, and so are our clients! And the food news is that the demand is increasing.

Yes, it’s true. MD has been believing in equal opportunities for all, even before diversity was a thing! Equity, diversity and inclusion are not buzzwords to our expert team, but fundamental company priorities which we hope to continue to uphold as our agency continues to navigate through the modelling world.

Our team continue to be inspired by YOU! This is what kick started our modelling agency. We believe that everyone has the right to access the modelling industry without having any restrictions or boundaries placed on them because, after all, modelling should be about fairly representing every person not just a small minority.

Not everyone looks like the modelling standard. You know, the jawline, the cheekbones, the thigh gap. Wouldn’t it be absolutely dull if we were all the same?

MD believes that inclusion and diversity increase creativity, improve performance and can better serve our models and clients who are looking to reach their target audience with their curated campaigns. Age, gender identity, race, religion, sexual orientation, parental status, disability, educational background or any other characteristic for that matter shouldn’t relate to your ability to perform as a model. We all have skills and if your passion is to be in front of the camera, then no one should stop you!

We can see that the demand is rising for applications from all sections of the community as our top-tier clients are requesting diverse looks and are recruiting from the widest possible pool of suitable candidates.

Just to give you a sneak peek, we recently had a child and family shoot with Soft Flooring Company. The Santos/Tavares family were accompanied by Yvanne & Elian who were amazing!

When we’re talking about “recent,” we had feedback from our male model Darren who landed a gig with Business Disability Forum on the 10th of June 2024. His wife gave us her verdict on the booking.

“Respectful and Amazing…

My husband went on a shoot with Models Direct today. He had the time of his life!! Bearing in mind, he has a disability that makes it hard to walk, he met his liaison this morning and it was plain sailing from there!! All (disabled) models were treated with the utmost respect, all needs were met, and a fun but exhausting time was had by all. Communication has been brilliant throughout and even though the shoot was at an airport, everything was organised so well, there was no time for nerves. Would TOTALLY recommend Models Direct to all ages/abilities! Thank you!!”

Finally, our male model Kadeem on his recent shoot gave us a 5 out of 5 star rating for his 12th of June 2024 assignment.

“A Genuine Good Start

Overall, I could not have asked for a better shoot to be my first through Models Direct. From start to finish, I was kept in the loop with all the information I needed about my shoot. On the day I arrived, I was greeted by the client and those I would work alongside and the atmosphere was good. I was spoken to about what was needed for the shoot, shown examples of videos and video shorts and what ideas and parts I would have to play throughout the day.

It was handled well and always thought about. I was even given room to speak about my own ideas and listened to by all. Even though the atmosphere was relaxed everyone was professional, didn’t take things seriously and was very passionate about what they do. It was a great shoot and would happily work alongside the client and everyone involved again!”
